How We’ve Created This List

We created a list of all of the vegan-friendly restaurants and eateries in Cornwall that we could find, using personal experience, recommendations and also internet research.  These restaurants were then rank ordered using a scoring system that collates independent review data from multiple sources, with a higher weighting given to those restaurants that are fully vegan.

To feature in this list, each restaurant has to have either a fully vegan menu or multiple vegan options.

UPDATE:  Sadly, The Cornish Vegan is now closed.

At the top spot for the second year in a row, this restaurant is 100% vegan and is located in the heart of Truro.  They use local ingredients to create a globally themed menu. The Cornish Vegan changed hands last year but is still consistently rated as one of the top vegan restaurants in Cornwall (we’ve had some wonderful meals there!).

2. Vega, Tintagel

A quirky little vegan café and shop in Tintagel serving home-cooked vegan food and products. Dog-friendly. Excellent reviews across the board place Vega as one of the best vegan restaurants in Cornwall.

8. Be Kind The Vegan Coffee Caravan, Hayle

A cute blue caravan selling takeaway Italian coffee, vegan pastries, cakes and lunch.  With great reviews, Be Kind is rated one of the best places in Cornwall to grab a takeaway coffee and a quick bite to eat.  There is seating outside the caravan and several cute touches such as hand-painted stones decorating the outdoor area.

9. Rosie’s Kitchen, Bude

Rosie’s describe themselves as a “modern diner with Cornish Charm”; think colourful decor and classic diner food including vegan all day breakfast, burgers and loaded fries.  Rosie’s has a play park and is located practically on the beach, so it’s a great spot to head to with kids in the summer months.  There is a large public car park right next to the cafe.

This vegetarian cafe serves homemade cakes, breakfasts and lunches from a converted greenhouse setting, with a focus on using produce from their garden.  The gardens are really beautiful here, with lots of space for little ones to run around and the whole vibe was ‘wholesome’ from the menu and food served, to the setting and gardens.

14. Flicka Donkey Sanctuary Cafe, Penryn

A vegan tea room at Flicka Donkey Sanctuary, just outside of Falmouth.  This is the perfect place to visit with kids as you get to see all of the happy donkeys and have a bite to eat too.  We enjoyed sitting by the window watching the donkeys in the field whilst we had our coffee and cake!

A plant-based daytime cafe serving healthy options and a few vegan treats.  The cafe is small with a tiny kitchen but the menu is fresh and wholesome, with lots of lovely drinks on offer too.  We had to park relatively far away, so bear that in mind if walking is an issue for you.

A licensed cafe located in one of the original stables at the beautiful Port Eliot Estate.

Note:  This was previously a vegetarian cafe and the website still states that it is ‘plant based’ but on viewing it’s social media, the cafe now appears to serve meat.  We are seeking confirmation and a visit is pending in order to confirm the number of vegan options available on the menu.  If you visit before us, please let us know!
